In the blink of an eye, it seems April just rushed by in a
blur. May is now here and brings a preview of the summer days we’ve been
itching for all winter. May is truly the only month that clearly represents the
end and beginning of a season. In fact Anthony Trollope, respected English
novelist of the Victorian era, uttered one of the most relatable quotes
I’ve heard recently. "Let
no man boast himself that he has got through the perils of winter till at least
the seventh of May.”
This month also has a plethora of interesting holidays, and facts that surround it. It was named after the Greek goddess Maia, goddess of fertility. Its birthstone is the emerald, my favorite and best-selling stone, which symbolizes love and success. We celebrate all the hardwork put forward by our moms on Mother's Day. In England, Scotland, and Wales they celebrate May Day when people celebrate the coming of summer with customs, such as the maypole, to welcome the end of a long winter.
I LOVE the month of May.My collection is filled with pretty emerald color jewels. It’s my favorite, perhaps because it is my birthday month, but also because it means spring is really here, flowers, sunshine and all.
