What’s in a name?

As part of a brand makeover under designer Hedi Slimane, storied haute couture brand Yves Saint Laurent has changed its name to Saint Laurent Paris.
"I am very pleased to announce an exciting step in the history of our brand and our business. As part of our strategy to become one of the world's true leaders in fashion and luxury, we are transforming the name of our brand from 'Yves Saint Laurent' to 'Saint Laurent Paris.'While the name of the brand will change, the house's iconic YSL logo — a French cultural icon — will not disappear."
I worked for Yves Saint Laurent and I know personally the pride Mr.Saint Laurent had for his work and his amazing brand.
Of course, they will keep the YSL logo because without the "Y" it would be "SLRG"which sounds and looks awful. The iconic logo was designed in 1962 by the famous french artist and graphic designer A.M. Cassandre.
Yves Saint Laurent  was one of the greatest names in fashion history.

Three documentaries have been made about Saint Laurent's life: David Teboul's "Yves Saint Laurent: His Life and Times" (2002), "Yves Saint Laurent: 5 Avenue Marceau 75116 Paris" (2002), and Pierre Thoretton's "L'Amour Fou" (2009).

I will cherish everything I own that says Yves Saint Laurent forever-I was lucky to know you Monsieur Saint Laurent.
